Danny Byrd is Hospital's original fast soul soldier. Hailing from the west country, Danny was the first artist to be signed to Hospital way back in 1999. Coming through with his original garage tinged drum+bass nugget Do It Again this prompted a phenomenal run of releases whether on singles or on compilations. His early statements of intent Changes and Do It Again set the scene. With vocal stabs, gorgeous break downs and clean high end production it is easy to see why Danny's music has influenced a whole host of stars in the scene; indeed Hospital's own High Contrast and Cyantific count themselves among his biggest fans.

More recently Danny has re-emerged with some fresh flavours straight out of the top draw, Dog Hill and Soul Function have been smashing there way into the big rooms in 2006 bringing the euphoric Byrd sound to a whole new audience. C.I.A recordings and Spearhead records have come knocking for some booty shaking byrd beats and released 12"s of their own.
