It's hard to believe that this was only High Contrast's first solo 12", he had already been getting so much attention. Just 21 and based in Cardiff, High Contrast is looking set to take the scene by storm with his fresh and unique take on drum and bass.

On the A side, "Passion" combines searing strings and stabs with a hi-energy drum and bass workout, a tune that runs and runs, fusing nostalgic disco references with contemporary loop based mechanics. On the flip, "Full Intention" shows just that - a tune on a mission with an endless bassline, driving piano stabs, rising filtered sound fx and rolling percussion. It contains elements house, jazz, funk etc - a late nite roller with sleazy sax and searching female vocals.
