The final instalment of the Sick Music jigsaw falls into place with this stonking pair of dancefloor destroyers.
With the rip roaring vocals of Diane Charlemagne, "Fired Up" is a balls-out monster. Superstar DJ Friction and Brighton based production partner K-Tee have excelled themselves here. This is a surefire Friday night winner with plays on Annie Mac's Mash Up, and Pete Tong's essential selection on Radio One. And how can we forget the big man Friction himself championed it in his own DJ sets.
Fusing Hip-Hop, R&B and D&B, and featuring local vocalist IK, the original 'Red Mist' was one of the stand out cuts from Danny Byrd's debut album 'Supersized' on Hospital Records last year. Since then Danny has been touring worldwide. His dancefloor friendly remixes for the likes of Sony BMG, and Ministry of Sound have made him the go-to guy for every A+R man after a D&B reworking.
Danny went back into the studio earlier in the year and re-worked this VIP mix of 'Red Mist' primarily for use in his own DJ sets. Subsequently falling into the hands of Zane Lowe, Trevor Nelson and Grooverider, it was added to the Radio One playlist and received great responses wherever played.
